Kick Self-Doubt to the Curb – Guest Petra Monaco

Give Self-Doubt a Kick in the Pants

Self-doubt can be a real pain, keeping you from living the most vibrant life you can.  It affects your relationships, your job or business, your sense of well-being and more.  It can be a small little whisper, or a loud, nagging presence.   In this episode of Thrive Talk, we discuss the sources of self-doubt, discovering that much of it lies in the “stuff” we carry with us from childhood and continue to hold on to.  Overcoming self-doubt requires taking a hard look at yourself as well as who you are giving power in your life.

About Our Guest

Our Thrive Talk guest this episode is Petra Monaco.  Petra is a multi-passionate creative with a handmade business, social media and web design business and transformational life coach that helps women move through frustration and remove lack so they can live the life they crave. Petra’s expertise includes helping her clients overcome self-doubt and building the confidence they need to succeed.

A Story of Overcoming

Petra’s practice has been shaped by her own story. Petra grew up in foster care since the age of 2 and has overcome many challenges and adversities despite the odds, always believing in finding a dream that leaves her fulfilled by living her life according to her own rules.

With a vision of owning her own business, 10 years ago Petra created her first business, Hippie’s Creations. Being very much a DIY person, she learned how to set up a blog and manage her social media, letting out her geeky side and leading her to create her second business, Unusual Bits. But after, her son was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder at the age of 4, and life became a 24 hour crisis, leaving his life in limbo until he underwent his third liver transplant.

Time for a Shift

Petra realized that life is too short and she needed to stop talking about her dream of helping others and start taking action. She became trained in mental health counseling but realized that in order to be present for her son’s medical needs and her own dream, that helping transform the life of others was her passion. Petra uses what she has learned through life and her training to take a dream and turn it into reality and does this with her third business, Petra Monaco – Transformational Life Coach.

Petra believes that everyone deserves a shot at creating freedom however they envision it and feels strongly about the fact that you don’t need a sob story to do so. She is helping women like herself to move forward and overcome the challenges in making their own dreams real through her business, one-on-one coaching.  She has written three books and continues to create her own freedom pursuing her own dreams.

Free Yourself to Live the Life You Deserve – Guest Olga Reinholdt

How do You be True to the Authentic You? What Motivates You to Make (or Not Make) Changes in Your Life? Can You Really Choose to Be Happy?

These and other questions were the subject of my conversation with Thrive Talk guest Olga Reinholdt.   During the discussion, Olga challenged assumptions about why we do things and whether doing something we think is good for us really is.

We discovered:

  • why it is okay not to have a fitness model body
  • why you don’t always have to be pushing forward, and
  • why having the right coach for the wrong reasons does you a disservice.

We learned:

  • how we limit ourselves with labels and comfort zones,
  • how to get out of your own way and open up possibilities you didn’t realize were there.

And that just scratches the surface.  Watch the full interview above.

About Olga

Olga Reinholdt is a life coach with Accomplishment Coaching.  She truly believes that happiness is a choice and helps women cultivate their happy lifestyle.  She is also a professional fitness trainer who promotes the concept of “anti-fitness”.  Olga helps women create the body that empowers them for making their dreams come true without all the dieting, sweating, “six-pack”, “no-pain-no-gain” nonsense.

Olga describes herself as, “I’m a motivation ninja, idea generator and ‘no excuses’ coach: I’d rather help you find a way or make one.”  She hosts a podcast, “Fitness for Grown-ups” (in Russian), co-found an online fitness club “Best for Health” and provides personal online life coaching and a power anti-fitness (or, more politically correct, Mindful Fitness) program at www.olgareinholdt.ru/en

Olga shares this about her personal story:

Not so long ago I packed 30 years of my life in two suitcases, moved with my husband and a three year old from Kazakhstan to the USA, and started a new exciting life from scratch. Now I help women find their own point of self-actualization and freedom, and create resources for awesomeness, with healthy body being an essential one. I’m bilingual, a big fan of Russian rock music, devoted Iyengar yoga practitioner, singer and rock-model in the making, and a Buddhist at heart.
